Heartwood CIC is based at High Leas Farm in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. We invite many groups to the farm to learn about and engage in heritage crafts, farm activities and wildlife restoration actions. We embrace diversity in all of its forms, welcoming a wide range of people to the farm each year, whilst fostering a safe and supportive space for those who need it most. We have a community vegetable garden, heritage grain beds and fruit trees as well as traditional breeds of cattle, sheep and geese. We steward the land in a way that sequesters carbon, aids natural flood management and builds healthy soils. The farm’s woods, fields and ponds hold a diverse array of wildlife that our regenerative farming practises support, and in turn that abundance of wildlife, including pest predators and dung beetles, makes sure that the health of our vegetables, grains and livestock is supported naturally.
